GURUGRAM: A 32-year-old guy has been arrested for sexually harassing a 12-year-old woman and allegedly threatening to kill her.
According to the police, the woman along with her father approached the Bhondsi police station on Tuesday night time and filed a criticism towards the accused, identified as Anil Kumar, for sexually harassing the woman and traumatising her.
The woman, who is a Class VI student, advised law enforcement officials that Kumar were harassing her for past several days but the fear of him harming her or her members of the family compelled her to stay quiet. Her patience finally gave way on Tuesday when the accused blocked her way, when she used to be returning home from faculty, and threatened to kill her when she objected to his advances. She got here again home and on seeing her the father broke down. After some persuasion, the woman advised her father that Kumar were harassing her for past few days. She printed that the accused regularly handed lewd feedback on her when she returned from faculty. He regularly caught grasp of her, grabbed her hand or groped her when she objected.
"I was shocked to hear that this 32-year-old man was harassing my daughter for so many days. I have seen Kumar inside the village and know that he stays nearby. He is a drunkard. I wasted no time after my daughter told me about it and immediately approached the cops to file a complaint. A strict action should be taken against him so that he does not dare to repeat such shameful act in the future," the woman's father mentioned.
Following the criticism, an FIR used to be registered towards Kumar under Section 12 (sexual harassment) of the POCSO Act and Section 506 (prison intimidation) of the IPC at Bhondsi police station.
Kumar used to be arrested on Wednesday and produced in a city court docket that despatched him to judicial custody.
"The accused, who is a liquor addict, has confessed to his crime and said that he harassed the girl under the influence of alcohol," mentioned inspector Umesh Kumar, SHO, Bhondsi police station.
