NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday stated the federal government had given mortgage to 12 crore beneficiaries beneath the Mudra Yojna, totalling Rs five.75 crore, which has emerged as a role multiplier and relieved rural entrepreneurs from the clutches of money-lenders.
The PM interacted with Mudra Yojana beneficiaries from around the nation thru a video bridge. “It has unfolded new opportunities for early life, women and those who wanted to start or amplify their companies,” he stated. Of the whole loans disbursed, 74% of the beneficiaries have been women and 55% belonged to SC/ST and OBC communities.
He added the scheme has remodeled the lives of the deficient.
