Panic due to fire at Malviya Nagar; no casualty

NEW DELHI: A major fireplace broke out in a rubber godown in south Delhi's Malviya Nagar space on Tuesday causing panic among locals.
No casualty was reported within the incident, an official mentioned.

A dense plume of smoke billowed from a burning truck and the godown in Khirki Extension space causing panic among locals. Then police evacuated the world to make sure safety of the folks living near the godown.



The name of the fire was won around 5pm and 35 fireplace tenders have been rushed to the manufacturing unit to deliver the blaze under keep an eye on, mentioned a Delhi Fire Services officer.

The fireplace started from a truck parked near Sant Nirankari School in Malviya Nagar. The truck was loaded with rubber sheet from a godown, police mentioned.

The fireplace from the burning truck spread to the godown, mentioned DCP (south) Romil Baaniya.


A complete of 25 fireplace tenders have reached the spot and fireplace fighters are at work to deliver the fire under keep an eye on. The fireplace is partially under keep an eye on, he mentioned.


"The fire is in rubber sheets stored in the godown. No casualty has been reported so far and the near by area has been temporarily evacuated for security reasons," added the officer.


Local AAP MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj alleged that there have been many such unlawful godowns and unlawful factories have been many failures are waiting to occur.


He also mentioned that the native AAP councillor had complained to SDMC officers, however no motion was taken.
