Palanpur: A police head constable gave the anti-corruption sleuths a slip after he was once nabbed taking bribe of Rs 15,000 in Dhanera town of Banaskantha on Saturday.
The officers of the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) had laid a trap to catch head constable Jayanti Prajapati in a lane behind Dhanera police station on Saturday.
An ACB reputable stated that PRajapati has demanded the Rs 15,000 bribe from a labourer operating at a flour mill to not disclose his title in case under the Prohibition Act. The labourer contacted the ACB on its helpline, which then laid a trap for Prajapati. However, while taking the cash from the complainant, Prajapati smelt a rat and managed to escape from the spot. “We have video evidence in opposition to Prajapati. He can be charged with tempering with evidence,” stated ACB inspector KJ Patel. He added that search is on for Prajapati.
