Prime Minister slams Congress, says ‘chors want to oust chowkidaar’

BARIPADA: PM Narendra Modi, in a scathing assault on Congress in Odisha on Saturday, mentioned the party had risked the rustic’s defence and was now determined to remove him simply as thieves conspire to remove the ‘chowkidaar’. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has again and again used the word ‘chowkidaar’ to assault the PM.


Addressing a public assembly in Mayurbhanj district after inaugurating a slew of building tasks value around Rs 4,500 crore, Modi mentioned, “2004 aur 2014 ke beech kaise desh ki sena ko kamzor karne ki saazish rachi gayi; jab hamare sarkar desh ki sena ko unke saazish se nikaalne lage, hum unhe kaante ki tarah chubhne lagein. (There was a conspiracy to weaken the rustic’s defence between 2004 and 2014. Now that we're looking to strengthen it, we're getting underneath their skin like thorns).” He added, “Ye kisi bhi keemat par chowkidar ko raaste se hataa dena chahte hain (They need to oust the watchman at any value,” he added.


Referring to the AgustaWestland case and the position played through intermediary Christian Michel in defence purchases underneath UPA, Modi mentioned, “I fail to know whether or not Congress ran a government or a durbar of ‘Michel mama’. He used to grasp the whole thing about information in the PMO).


The PM additional mentioned that govt agencies would investigate the position of each individual who worked for the interests of middlemen in defence purchases. “The law is probably not lenient on somebody,” Modi added.
