New Uran-Nerul corridor eats into NMMT earnings

NAVI MUMBAI: The new Nerul-Belapur-Uran direction started by means of Central Railway has cut into the income earnings of NMMT by means of round 45%. The new fourth corridor at the Uran section I direction used to be inaugurated by means of the CM and different dignitaries on November 11 closing year.

Apart from the less time taken to commute to Nerul and Belapur by means of commuters from Kharkopar and Bamandongri at the new Nerul-Belapur-Uran direction, the price ticket fare and monthly move is a large takeaway for commuters.

Kharkopar commuters—the station that connects the new Ulwe node at the Uran corridor ---pay simply Rs 390 for first-class monthly move for train in opposition to the Rs 1000 that they'd pay by means of bus!

Over one lakh commuters availed monthly move in February from Kharkopar, while over two lakh from Bamandongri. Railway commuters are spoilt for choice. Train price ticket fare Rs five (commonplace for both Nerul and Belapur from the 2 new stations) is a minimal 3 times much less, while the first -class monthly move is a large saving for commuters from both the stations at the new corridor. Bamandongri, which is centrally positioned in Ulwe node has extra commuters.

NMMT GM, Shirish Aradwad observed, `` sure, commuters have diminished and we have lost income. We have optimised the bus provider as neatly. We have reduced the fleet from Ulwe.’’

Senior PRO, CR, A Ok Jain stated, “the train provider will only get extra popular with time. The commissioning of the section II of Uran corridor will further help commuters to get attached with suburban services and products at the harbour and transharbour direction for South Bombay and Thane.’’
