Delhi vigilance department officers likely to face privilege proceeding

NEW DELHI: The officials of the vigilance division are more likely to face privilege court cases, with Delhi meeting speaker Ram Niwas Goel on Monday ordering an meeting panel to probe the matter bearing on their refusal to reply to a query requested by means of an MLA.
The speaker directed chief secretary Anshu Prakash to give you the answer of the query requested by means of AAP MLA Pankaj Pushkar and warned the officials that they will have to not force him to the extent that he does to not sign the Delhi Budget 2018-19 to be tabled within the House on March 22.

"Vigilance department officers came to me with the files two days ago. They showed me the note of the L-G, saying the information about vigilance cases can't be shared with elected government," Sisodia stated

The deputy chief minister added that he insisted on the information and requested the dept to offer it, but it surely did not reply.

"This is disrespect of all assemblies and the Parliament. They are trying to protect officers who have corruption cases," he stated.

After Sisodia, speaker Ram Niwas Goel also expressed displeasure over the attitude of the officials and requested them to not problem the authority of the speaker and the meeting.

"It has perhaps happened within the history of democracy of the rustic. It appears that there's British Rule in nation and no democracy here.

"I want to warn officials to not problem the authority of the speaker and meeting," Goel stated.

AAP MLA Sourabh Bharadwaj stated that salary of the officials will have to be stopped as they're refusing the answers of MLAs questions following the L-G's instructions.


Accusing the L-G of protecting the officials, Bharadwaj alleged that Lt governor Anil Baijal encourages bureaucrats to move court each time committees of the House initiate court cases against them for not following the order of the meeting panel.


He alleged that the LG is defining the position of the meeting committees.
