AMBALA: The town police have registered a case of robbery after two youths fled away with a bag stuffed with bride’s jewelry and cash from an ongoing marriage serve as at Shagun Palace in Ambala on January 26. The police officers have obtained the CCTV camera footages of the palace to analyze the subject.
On January 27, the case used to be registered following the criticism of bridegroom Aditya Khosla, resident of Housing Board Colony, Ambala City. In the FIR, Aditya stated, "I was to get married to Nancy Grover on January 26 at Shagun Palace in Ambala City. The palace was booked by both the parties for the marriage function during the night time. At around 9pm, my aunt Nirmal Sachdeva from the in-laws' side was carrying the orange colour bag containing jewellery and cash. When my aunt Nirmal reached near the gate of the Shagun Palace, she kept the bag on the ground to recieve a phone call. Suddenly, two well-dressed youths came there and one of them removed his jacket to cover the bag and fled away with it."
The FIR additional stated, "After evaluating the total loss, it comes to around Rs 6.2 lakh including the cash amounting Rs 20,000 and gold and diamond jewellery worth Rs 6 lakh."
Ambala SHO inspector Ajit Singh said, "A case below section 379 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered in opposition to two unidentified youths. We have obtained CCTV camera footages wherein two youths are observed committing the crime. As of now, we are making efforts to spot the accused persons and further investigation is being done.”
