RTC MD orders probe into breakdown of two e-buses

Thiruvananthapuram: KSRTC managing director M P Dinesh has asked the company’s govt director (vigilance) to conduct a probe into the incident where two electric buses failed to complete trip on the inaugural day on Monday after the battery were given tired out.

In a remark issued here on Tuesday, the KSRTC MD cited inexperience of drivers provided via the operating corporate of the electrical buses (which led to overuse of the battery price) as the primary explanation why for the disruption of the provider of those two buses bound for Ernakulam from Thiruvananthapuram.


“All other buses could complete the trip. Direction has been given to the manager director (vigilance) to inquire whether there has been any lapse which led to the disruption of the provider. Now, all the eight buses have resumed services. The shipping minister has also sought a document from the KSRTC in this regard,” the remark stated.


Charging facility in Ernakulam, Haripad: KSRTC has also arranged charging amenities for the electrical buses at Ernakulam and Haripad, a facility which was provided handiest in Thiruvananthapuram earlier than. The company had put into provider eight electric buses on Monday, out of which two services were given disrupted.


Normally, these electric buses would cover 250 km on a median via charging just as soon as, and the buses had effectively carried out services all over the Sabarimala pilgrimage season.
