Surat: Re-nomination of Lalu Patel, sitting MP from the Union territory of Daman and Diu, as celebration candidate via BJP management has created a large number of resentment among celebration employees. There had been 10 aspirants for ticket from BJP and two of them have made up our minds to contest as independents within the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. History presentations that people have by no means returned the sitting MP for 3rd time period from right here. Hence, it is not going to be simple for BJP’s Lalu Patel. However, Lalu Patel advised TOI, “I'm confident of successful for the 3rd consecutive time period. People of Daman won't toughen unbiased candidates.”
Daman Youth Action Committee (DYAC) president Umesh Patel, running in opposition to BJP rule and for employment of locals in industrial units, can even contest as an unbiased. For this seat of 90,000 votes, victory and defeat margins can be even not up to 10,000 votes. In this sort of situation, if locals come to a decision to combat as independents, Congress and BJP might be in bother.
Daman voters wait until the closing second to cast their votes. Locals says employees of events come to their homes to provide a ‘potli’ (pouch of liquor) and a note of Rs500 to vote for them.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah had given a sign that the sitting MPs from Dadra and Nagar Haveli (DNH) and Daman and Diu might be re-nominated via the celebration as its candidate. This had created a large number of resentment among celebration employees.
Locals depending on income from rented huts within the coastal space of Daman are indignant with BJP administration led via Praful Patel. There had been demolitions in Daman’s coastal space where locals earn their livelihood via selling liquor and seafood. Owners of industrial units also are unhappy with the native administration.
Daman Jilla Panchayat president Sukhabhai Patel advised TOI, “There used to be resentment among locals in opposition to sitting MPs in DNH and Daman. But after their names had been finalized as celebration candidates via BJP management, other folks have made up our minds to go with them.”
BJP resources stated if Congress comes to a decision to switch Ketan Patel as its candidate, a fresh face will no doubt create issues for Lalu Patel.
