Kannur: With the election campaign gaining momentum, the confrontation between the CPM and the Congress has additionally intensified in Kannur.
The Congress has approached the government alleging that P K Sreemathi, the LDF candidate in Kannur, has violated all norms, while the CPM alleged that the UDF and the BJP are inquisitive about nasty actions against the LDF applicants by destroying and defacing the campaign fabrics.

However, the CPM alleged that the campaign fabrics of the LDF applicants in Kasaragod, Kannur and Vadakara are being extensively destroyed.
“The hooligans even demolished a big wall at Kommal close to Kodiyeri, the place the campaign graffiti for Jayarajan was once painted,” said birthday celebration district secretary M V Jayarajan.
There is popular assault against Sreemathi in social media the usage of derogatory phrases, Jayarajan said, including that the birthday celebration has filed grievance with the officials involved.
Meanwhile district collector Mir Muhammed Ali, who may be the district election officer, said all boards and banners without the details of the printer and publisher would be got rid of.
