Coimbatore: A gaggle of like-minded other people have come together to teach extracurricular activities to the underprivileged students free of cost. The volunteers, who've been visiting company schools to teach students, have created a not unusual house – Damarugam - the place students from all economic sections could be told the activities.
The centre, which Padma Shri S Thimmakka inaugurated on Sunday, would impart training in dance, singing, karate, origami and traditional arts like parai, among others, to the scholars. While nominal fee can be amassed from participants, it is free for the underprivileged students.
“We had been visiting company schools for the past 5 years to lend a hand students develop hobby in extracurricular activities and teach them. We have created the common house so that shall we accommodate students from other schools as neatly.
