Court orders action against rape survivor for turning hostile

MYSURU: Sending a robust message in opposition to liars with regard to prison matters, a city courtroom has ordered motion in opposition to a rape survivor after sentencing a person to seven years' rigorous imprisonment for impregnating a minor woman.

The guy had married the victim after the loss of life in their child. "The court has also directed to bring the headmistress of Horalli Government School in Nanjangud to book for creating fake records to claim that the victim was a major," stated public prosecutor Mahanthappa.


Mahadevaswamy, 31, a resident of Horalli, had impregnated his relative in 2012. After Mahadevaswamy refused to marry the woman, her folks lodged a grievance in opposition to him. He went underground for 8 months, and then police arrested him. But via then, Mahadevaswamy had married the survivor. He had tied the knot two months after the their child died. Police had preserved bones of the child to match the DNA with the accused. According to Mahanthappa, Mahadevaswamy's DNA matched with that of the child.


Meanwhile, the headmistress of the school, the place the victim studied, submitted a pretend certificate claiming that the woman was a big. Though the woman was elderly 15 years, 11 months and 25 days, the school certificate claimed she was 16.. The certificate was produced in courtroom, and right through cross-examination, it got here to mild that the woman was a minor on the time of incident.
