Coimbatore: A city company reliable has petitioned the city police commissioner, Ok Periaiah, looking for motion towards the people spreading rumours in regards to the civic frame’s bold 24x7 water provide scheme on social media.
The city company is within the process to implement the 24x7 water provide scheme in 60 wards with the help of Suez Projects, a French corporate, at an estimated price of Rs 2,961 crore. It is the most important water provide mission for the French corporate in India and the contract duration is 26 years - one-year for find out about, 4 years for implementation and 21 years of upkeep duration.
However, many of us had been circulating the mission main points on social media, claiming that it was once one of the vital unhealthy tasks for the city citizens as they must pay huge amount for potable water to the French corporate. CPI and CPM had, meanwhile, registered their opposition to the privatisation move.
In this wake, company engineer A Lakshmanan lodged a grievance with the city police commissioner, saying some people had been spreading wrong details about the 24x7 water provide scheme on Facebook and WhatsApp. He asked the police to take suitable motion towards them.
A copy of the grievance has been forwarded to the assistant commissioner of police (law & order, west sub-division), Venkateshan, for further motion.
