NEW DELHI: The downward slide in petrol and diesel costs endured on Saturday after the rates were lower by 19 and 11 paise a litre respectively in the nationwide capital on softening international oil costs.
In Delhi, petrol now prices Rs 78.99 a litre, whilst diesel is bought at Rs 73.53, according to a price notification issued by state-owned oil corporations.
In Mumbai, petrol price stood at Rs 84.49 a litre and diesel rate is at Rs 77.06.
The rates are off their file top of Rs 84 according to litre for petrol and Rs 75.45 a litre for diesel touched on October four. On that day, the government decided to chop excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 1.50 according to litre every and requested state-owned gas retailers to subsidise by another Re 1 a litre by reducing their margins.
Subsequent to this, the petrol price came all the way down to Rs 81.50 according to litre and diesel at Rs 72.95 a litre on October 5.
