VADODARA: Two extra individuals, including a resident of Alkapuri area of Vadodara metropolis and another resident from neighbouring Dahod district in Gujrat, succumbed to swine flu on Monday taking the total dying toll because of H1N1 virus to seven in Vadodara district from starting of this yr.
A 49-year-old female resident of posh Alkapuri area succumbed to swine flu at around 10.20am on Monday morning whilst an 82-year-old male patient from Pandav Road of Dahod district succumbed to H1N1 virus at around 1.50pm. Both the patients were admitted at private hospitals in the metropolis.
A 54-year-old male resident from Karjan the city of Vadodara district, who was once admitted at a city-based private health center, had also succumbed to swine flu on Sunday.
According to officials of the health division, from the beginning of this yr, a total of six patients have succumbed to swine flu of which five residents were residing throughout the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) limits whilst the patient who died on Monday hailed from neighbouring Dahod.
Since January 1, a total of 41 H1N1 sure cases have been reported within areas falling in VMC limits. Of these, 18 patients have been cured, 18 patients are present process remedy whilst five have died.
In Vadodara rural, a total of nine sure cases have been reported of which 8 patients have been cured whilst one has died.
