MOUNT MAUNGANUI: A happy Indian captain Virat Kohli on Monday said that his group has hit the "auto mode" going into the 2019 World Cup and there don't seem to be too many areas of concern for him at the present time.
India are runaway favourites for the 50-over world event after dominating collection wins in Australia and New Zealand.
"If you look at the last five games (two in Australia and three here), I have said that No. 4 is a position that we are looking to solidify but when (Ambati) Rayudu starts playing like that, you start feeling more confident about the batting line-up," Kohli said at the post-match press conference.
"Dinesh (Karthik) is in great form as well, he can step in at any time if we need to shuffle the middle order, MS is hitting the ball really well, so I don't think after looking at the first three games, we have a lot to worry about," the skipper exuded self belief.
The comprehensive collection win towards a high quality New Zealand facet has instilled the conclusion in skipper that the group can also perform when he is taking a break.
Asked if the intensity will drop (in his absence for the next two ODIs and three T20s), the skipper answered: "Not at all. Now things are more or less running in auto mode for us."
"I don't need to throw myself round and ask others to do the same. When these two guys (Karthik and Rayudu) had been finishing the game for us, we had been all sitting together and clapping for each run.
"I don't believe that intensity will drop. I am satisfied that I am leaving when we've won the collection. It gives me a little of leisure as neatly. The intensity goes to be the same because it's a group tradition now and no longer essentially one thing to do with me," the skipper reiterated.
While he's delighted to have dominated the collection to this point, the skipper said that the performance on this collection may not be a trademark as to how they'll fare towards the Kiwis once they face each different right through the World Cup.
"Look New Zealand is a robust ODI facet. When you play like this towards them, it will give you a lot of self belief and while you play them subsequent, it'll give us a lot of self belief. That's normally how world cricket works."
However, it'll depend on how the two groups can be placed before their face-off right through the mega event.
"You would possibly have an upper hand while you play them again but you never know what sort of self belief a group is carrying when it is going into the World Cup.
"If you play them in the first game of World Cup, then these things (series win) matters but if they have had a great tournament before they play us, the series is not a guarantee that we will have an upper hand against them in the World Cup," he signed off.
