Allahabad: NaMo and Raga sprinklers selling like hot cakes, shops flooded with ‘Mahagathbandhan’ colours
ALLAHABAD: As election fever is slowly picking up in the nation, the Holi revelers are all set to experience splash of political colors with sprinklers and colors named after political parties and leaders available out there.
The city markets remained flooded with buyers an afternoon sooner than the eve of Holi on Tuesday. The district management and police also remained busy in reviewing the safety preparations for the pageant.
While major crowd used to be obtrusive at garments and meals stores, the makeshift retailers of colors, gulal and sprinklers also mushroomed along the roads in prominnet markets of the city.
District magistrate Surendra Singh and SSP Anand Kulkarni took stock of the safety preparations in the district. Kulkarni said that series of peace committee conferences and course marches via the police and para-military forces in view of the pageant had already been started every week back. Sites of Holika dahan in communally sensitive and combined populated areas had been known and are underneath close vigil via the native police, he said.
A unique package of colors ‘Mahagathbandhan’ contains different colors together with dry and water colors at the side of gulal of various sun shades. The packet bears picture of various political leaders and logos of contributors parties of the ‘mega-coalition’ together with Mamata Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav, Mayawati and Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi.
“This packet is the most popular out there as there may be Rahul gulal and Priyanka herbal colour in it at the side of purple colour in title of Akhilesh and blue named after Mayawati”, said Mohammad Quadir, a wholesale trader.
In sproinklers too, NaMo and RaGa sprinklers are being offered like scorching desserts in the markets. There is a unique sprinkler named after Nitish Kumar- ‘Nitish holi rang’ finding many buyers out there. Besides, ‘Yogi-Modi rang’ is no much less in demand in marketplace.
Aprt from political tags, sprinklers and colors designed on theme of in style caricature characters like Chhota Bhim, Tom and Jerry, Ben10, Bal Ganesha, Spiderman, Bal Krishna, loopy birds, panda, etc are in style amongst kids.
