CUTTACK: Orissa prime court docket has given one week to the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) to show cause as to why a probe must not be ordered into the granting of licences to kalyan mandaps for operating within the town. Marriage halls without parking house were a matter of concern as they have been creating traffic chaos via expanding congestion in roads in several parts of town.
The court docket set the time on Monday while responding to a petition filed via the Amicus Curiae appointed via it to assist in adjudication of a PIL on loss of parking place and garbage disposal gadget at lots of the kalyan mandaps within the town.
“The division bench of Chief Justice Okay S Jhaveri and Justice Okay R Mohapatra has posted the topic to March 19 for hearing together with the answer of CMC,” Amicus Curiae Arun Kumar Budhia said. “The court docket expects CMC to report a testimony and display cause why the granting of licences to kalyan mandaps must not be inquired into,” Budhia said. “Many mandaps, which were issued conditional licences, did not satisfy the ideas fastened via the court docket specifically in regards to parking house and dumping of waste in general disregard to the court docket’s order,” the Amicus Curiae alleged in his petition.
