Raj: Ex-MP Jyoti faces heat from Mirdha clan, Cong MLAs

JAIPUR: The Congress is in a fix over deciding its candidate for Nagaur Lok Sabha seat, as its personal local leaders, including sitting MLAs, are opposing the candidature of former MP Jyoti Mirdha. Besides Jyoti, two more from the Mirdha clan— the Congress’ distinguished political family from the Jat heartland—are vying for Congress price ticket from Nagaur.

Jyoti’s uncles and former ministers Richhpal Mirdha and Harendra Mirdha are opposing her and are in quest of the birthday celebration price ticket for themselves, making it tricky for the Congress to pick its candidate on the seat.

Jyoti is the granddaughter of overdue Nathuram Mirdha, a distinguished Congress baby-kisser of his time. Richhpal is Nathuram’s nephew. Harendra Mirdha, a former minister, is son of Ram Niwas Mirdha, some other distinguished Congress baby-kisser of the Mirdha clan.

In the new meeting elections, Vijayapal Mirdha, son of Richhpal Mirdha, gained the Degana meeting seat on Congress price ticket. Richhpal was denied the meeting price ticket as he had misplaced two times on the Congress price ticket prior to now. The other two claimants—Jyoti and Harendra—say Richhpal’s declare for the Nagaur Lok Sabha seat has no foundation.

The drawback for Jyoti is not only the challenge from Harendra Mirdha but also from local Congress leaders, including the birthday celebration’s MLAs. They allege that when her defeat in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Jyoti failed to nurse her constituency.

A neighborhood Congress MLA, on condition of anonymity, mentioned, “She never looked after the constituency as soon as she misplaced from right here. Only all the way through the meeting elections in December, she was noticed in the constituency.” He claimed that the voters do not like such absentee leaders. “She had abused politics and politicians through the usage of a derogatory phrase,” the MLA mentioned.

Another Congress MLA mentioned, “She never attended any birthday celebration function in the final 5 years. When the birthday celebration sought our opinion for shortlisting applicants on the seat, we gave an honest comments which is against Jyoti Mirdha.”

Despite several attempts, Jyoti may no longer be contacted for her reaction.

In their battle over the price ticket, Nagaur Zila pramukh Sunita Chaudhary seems to be the front-runner for birthday celebration seat.

Chief minister Ashok Gehlot and deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot’s conferences with RLP leader Hanuman Beniwal have ended in speculations that Congress may spring marvel through tying up with Rahstriya Loktantrik Party leader and MLA Hanuman Beniwal for the Nagaur seat. A tie-up with Beniwal’s birthday celebration can fortify Congress’ potentialities on the neighbouring Jodhpur Lok Sabha from the place the CM exploring possibilities of launching his son Vaibhav Gehlot.
