CALANGUTE: Describing the present political state of affairs within the state as “perplexed”, deputy speaker and Calangute MLA Michael Lobo on Tuesday mentioned there is practically no opposition within the state.
“All the political leaders want to soar where there is energy and money. Because of this there's no opposition here. We desire a robust opposition in our political machine as it’s important for democracy, in order that the voice of the folk is heard. If someday BJP loses energy, I’m in a position to be the leader of the opposition,” he mentioned after paying floral tributes at the statue of Dayanand Bandodkar, on Tuesday morning.
Lobo mentioned Bandodkar laid the foundation for modern Goa by way of introducing various reforms just like the Land to the Tiller Act.
