Sugarcane farmers continue to wait for their dues

AMBALA: The Haryana cane commissioner Ajit Balaji Joshi on Tuesday called a gathering with the farmers and Naraingarh Sugar Mill management at Krishi Bhawan in Panchkula when it comes to the efficiency of the sugar mill which is defaulting on releasing well timed payments to the sugarcane farmers of the area.


The meeting was attended by the Naraingarh Sub-Divisional Magistrate Aditi, Naraingarh Sugar Mill owner Rahul Anand, Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) (Haryana) state president Gurnam Singh Charuni and BKU Haryana Ambala president Malkiat Singh Sahibpura. Cane commissioner Joshi has instructed the mill owner Anand to be provide on Friday, March 22 in another meeting with the entire related accounts similar report of the mill efficiency for the existing season at the side of his Chartered Accountant (CA) and a few concerned bank officials are often known as for the same.


Narainagarh SDM Aditi informed TOI, “The concerned sugar mill is defaulting on releasing well timed payments to the sugarcane farmers of Ambala and adjoining areas. Till date, the sugar mill has best released the fee of just about Rs 50 crore and has remarkable payments of just about Rs 120 crore for the current season of the years 2018-19. The cane commissioner has called another meeting on Friday, March 22 and instructed the mill owner to be provide in the meeting with the entire accounts similar data and to inform his plans that how he could be working the sugar mill for the following 3 years. The commissioner desires to make sure to provide a longer term relief to the farmers so they do not have to stand inconveniences due to the premature payments of the sugarcane.”
