Coimbatore: The fourth additional district judge court docket here on Monday sentenced a 55-year-old guy to lifestyles imprisonment for murdering his maternal uncle over a petty dispute 4 years in the past.
The convict, Sivakumar, was a construction worker. "He was working with his uncle Natarajan, a construction worker from Kallipalayam near Kovilpalayam on the outskirts of the city. On November 16, 2014, when Sivakumar, a drunkard, demanded money from Natarajan to buy liquor, he refused to give the money. In a fit of rage, Sivakumar hit his maternal uncle with a boulder. Natarajan suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot," a police officer said.
Kovilpalayam police registered a case and arrested Sivakumar, who was later remanded in judicial custody and lodged at the Coimbatore Central Prison. TNN
