Bihar: 4 killed in fire at Muzaffarpur factory

MUZAFFARPUR: Four people were charred to death as a fireplace broke out in a food processing devices at Chak Nurain village under Bochaha police station of the district within the wee hours on Monday.

Confirming the incident, senior superintendent of police (SSP) Manoj Kumar used to be not sure about the actual selection of casualties. "He said that the fire broke out nearly 4am, when some of the factory workers were sleeping in the upper floor of the building. Some of them have saved their lives fleeing from the spot, however one of them was rescued by the villagers. He is undergoing treatment at SKMCH," he said.


The SSP added that rescues work used to be proceeding till 5pm on Monday. "The exact figure of the causalities can be confirmed only after the debris are removed from the scene. The rescue work will take 5 to 6 hours more," he said.


Meanwhile, the station area officer of the Bochaha police station confirmed two deaths saying that the toll might be cross up by means of six to seven. While, a villager and eye witness, on term of anonymity said that human stays of 4 individuals had been recovered from the ashes.


The injured, identified as Biju Baitha of Piparahi in neighbouring Sheohar district said that there have been 20 individuals, dozing in a corridor, situated at the higher ground of the development. "I wake up after hearing a dean and bustle around me seeing only flames everywhere. The fire gathered around me before I could understand anything. I found myself in the bed here after getting conscious," Baitha narrated his woes.


The Muzaffarpur DM Md Sohail and the SSP Kumar were camping there till the submitting of this document.
