Psychotherapy courses: JU-health facility tie up

KOLKATA: Jadavpur University will spouse with Caring Minds Akademia for the primary time to introduce a one-year degree course in psychological counselling and six-month certificate course in psychotherapy to take care of youngsters with special wishes.

These lessons will start from April 2019 at Caring Minds’ Sarat Bose Road campus.


JU vice-chancellor Suranjan Das said, “Caring Minds, which is helping youngsters with special wishes, requires specialist trainers. We are creating a course to supply trainers who can deal with the particular necessities of youngsters with special want.” Das and Caring Minds founder-director Minu Budhia signed an MoU on Friday.


“These lessons would impart and equip the students with very important counselling talents and strategies, which might empower them to paintings successfully within the field of psychological well being. Mental well being issues are on upward thrust and those lessons would assist the students contribute to the society,” a Caring Minds spokesperson, said.


The one-year degree in psychological counselling will cover psychological disorders, counselling methods, and many others. The six-month certificate course in psychotherapy will cover psychodynamic therapy, behavior therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy and interpersonal therapy.


Das said, “The BEd lessons in JU gives a programme on special training. The centre for disability studies in JU has already advanced an experience to supply trainers to handle the need of special youngsters. We excel in teaching finding out procedure, invention and research and are conscious about our legal responsibility to the society.”
