Railways to seek CCEA nod for doubling New Bongaigaon-Guwahati line: Railway Minister Piyush Goyal

GUWAHATI: Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said Saturday his ministry would soon method the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs for clearance of the doubling of the railway line from New Bongaigaon-Guwahati by the use of Rangiya in Assam.
Addressing a evaluation meeting of senior railway officers at Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) headquarters right here on Saturday night, Goyal said following inauguration of Bogibeel Bridge, all efforts must now be in opposition to doubling of railway lines within the region for capability enhancement. He requested the officers to arrange a course of action inside of one week.

The minister spoke to state Forest Minister Parimal Suklabaidya for making sure quick permission for soil procurement, which is presently hampering progress of venture.
