Six killed as cars collide near Gadag

HUBBALLI: Six other people were killed and 4 injured in an accident at Adavisomapur village in Gadag district within the early hours of Sunday.

The mishap happened when the driver of the auto, which was coming from Lakkundi, lost regulate on a street hump after which the auto overturned on every other automotive coming from Gadag round 3am. It is alleged that a crew of six youths from Dharwad, who were hired as engineers with different private firms, had come to attend the marriage of one in all their buddies. They were reportedly going out of town for a pressure.


Basavaraj, relative of probably the most deceased youths, said that they'd left Dharwad through 10pm on Saturday. The deceased are Anand Betgeri, 28, Varun Betgeri, 26, Siddu Korishetti, 26, Manojkumar Karadigudda, 26, Amruth, 27, and Channu Wadad, 26, all citizens of Hebballi Agasi in Dharwad.


Police said though the air baggage opened, the collision was such that all of the six died at the spot.


Meanwhile, the four youths within the other automotive, which was from Lakkundi, were injured. They were returning after having dinner at a dhaba. The injured are Manjunath Hallikeri, Virupakshappa Abbigeri, Vishwanath Kerur and Vijaykumar Banavasi, all citizens of Gadag. As Hallikeri and Kerur were critically injured, they've been shifted to KIMS in Hubballi. Gadag rural police rushed to the spot and have registered a case.
