KALABURAGI: After expressing displeasure over the BJP’s collection of fielding Umesh Jadhav from the Kalaburagi Lok Sabha constituency, veteran Dalit chief K B Shanappa on Saturday made public his resolution to renounce from the party’s primary membership. His associate Shyamarao Pyati, additionally a Dalit chief, additionally surrender the party. The duo is likely to join the Congress.


The veteran Shanappa, who joined the BJP in 2006, is dissatisfied that the party didn't imagine him whilst finalizing the price ticket to Umesh Jadhav. His tenure as an MLC ended six months in the past.


Shanappa was once a two-time CPI MLA ahead of joining the Janata Dal. He was once the excise minister in the Janata Dal govt led through J H Patel. During his stint with the Janata Dal he lost to Kharge, however was once made an MLC later.


Pyati, who surrender the BJP with Shanappa, is a former Kalaburagi Urban Development Authority chairman.
