Two women injured in celebratory firing

Vadodara: Two women have been injured after a person fired from a retired army personnel’s private gun right through a marriage in Chhota Udepur district on Thursday morning.
The retired army guy Arjun Rathwa used to be wearing his licensed double-barrel rifle at the wedding ceremony of Kutariya Rathwa’s daughter in Rangpur village.

After the wedding, when the family members have been seeing off the newly weds, Arjun fired two rounds from his rifle within the air. Immediately, any other visitor Juwansinh Rathwa snatched Arjun’s rifle and loaded it with one cartridge.


Juwansinh suddenly fired from the gun maintaining the gun’s barrel towards flooring. The bullet hit the bottom and rebounded hitting the bride’s sister Methli Rathwa on her proper thigh. The shrapnel of the bullet hit Ramtu Rathwa who used to be also standing there on her proper knee. Both women have been rushed to normal clinic in Chhota Udepur the town.


Local sources said that Ramtu used to be discharged after her wound used to be treated, but Methli used to be referred to SSG Hospital in Vadodara. Police said that Methli’s health is significant because the bullet exited from the opposite facet of the thigh resulting in lack of blood. Later, an offence of try to murder and violation of Arms Act used to be registered in opposition to Arjun and Juwansinh at Rangpur police station. By evening Juwansinh used to be arrested, whilst Arjun used to be declared as wanted.


“Arjun has been booked as he did celebratory firing from his gun even because the palms license used to be issued for private safety. Also, he did not deposit his gun with the native police station after the style code of behavior got here into effect,” said sub-inspector T M Vasava of Rangpur police station. The gun used to be seized by police after the firing incident.
