Allahabad: Members of all India Akhara Parishad held a very powerful assembly at panchayti bada udasi akhara, Kdyganj, on Friday. After a marathon assembly, members of the parishad, while appearing their dissatisfaction over the state government's ongoing preparation for establishing Kumbh 2019, have laid sure demands failing which the parishad has threatened to boycott the ‘shahi snan’ in the Kumbh 2019.
The parishad, bringing up the example of the amenities supplied to the saints of 13 akhara’s right through Ujjain Kumbh, has demanded that the state government must also learn a lesson from the MP government which supplied meals and lodging for the saints through construction ‘sant awas’ (homes of saints).
“We have determined that this type of facility must be supplied through the state government who has assured to cater to all the wishes of the saints coming to Kumbh, failing which the saint community would boycott all the shashi snan of Kumbh 2019”, stated mahant Narendra Giri, president of the akhara parishad.
The parishad members have also made it transparent that if the state government fail to meet their call for, the akhara’s, coming to wait Kumbh 2019 would refuse taking any facility of the state government and as such they'd derive their very own mechanism to cater to the needs of the saints coming for the religious event.
The parishad has also demanded that the federal government, while constituting Mela Pradhikaran, have no longer included the members of the akhara parishad or saints, which is an insult for the saint community. “What is using having an authority which assures of giving assist to saints, if the saint community is excluded”, questions the president of the parishad.
Commenting at the demands of the parishad, commissioner Allahabad department, Ashish Goel stated, “The demands of the saints are into consideration through the federal government and we've got assured them that there can be certain outcome for the same, thus, the saint community must no longer fear for the amenities that will be supplied to them or for that topic, their other demands too”.
