COIMBATORE: A 52-year-old man was on Friday booked under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act on Friday for molesting a four-and-a-half year-old woman at Kondaiyampalayam village close to Thondamuthur on the outskirts of the town on March 6.
A group of police led by means of Perur all-woman police station inspector Amutha has launched a manhunt for the aged man.
The accused has been identified as A Nanjappan, a tailor from Kondaiyampalayam village close to Thennamallur, the place he is living together with his son.
On March 6 round 7pm, he molested the minor woman in an isolated position. The woman narrated the incident to her followed mother, who met Nanjappan the very next day and questioned him. Nanjappan, then again, threatened her with dire consequences.
Meanwhile, the minor woman advanced critical ache on March 10 and he or she was admitted to a private health facility at Selvapuram.
One of the neighbours contacted 1098 (Child Line helpline) and informed in regards to the sexual attack. Immediately, its workforce approached the all-woman police, Perur, and the girl’s mother lodged a criticism with them.
