AHMEDABAD: Chants of “Shree Ram Jay Ram Jay Jay Ram” crammed the air on 32 TP Road, Gota, with locals and women in white saris, conserving the ‘besna’ (mourning ritual) of the road disregarded by government for over six months and causing a risk to residents. Thousands of other people and women conserving placards like ‘No Politics Zone” and “Swasth Gota, Swachh Gota” surrounded the besna.
Local politicians, who had grew to become a deaf ear to the people’s issues for last six months rushed to the spot on the sound of chanting of Ramdhun for an hour, to find other people sitting on the centre stage with heads coated by handkerchiefs and a banner proclaiming “32 TP- Gota Road nu Besnu (mourning rituals of 32 TP Road Gota). Yes, the locals have been protesting concerning the unhealthy, bumpy and dusty street which crosses thru 32 TP in Gota close to the Gota Flyover.
A government worker and resident of Silver Nest Society, Ramjibhai Desai, stated the road has been in very unhealthy shape because the government had dug it as much as lay drainage device.
“They set the concrete on the street and went off. The concrete broke down rapid developing ditches and clouds of dust. People residing here started getting breathing issues,” stated Ramjibhai, including, “We wrote to the government several instances and even drew consideration of our native representatives in opposition to the risk, but nothing has happened in six months.”
Another resident of the similar space, Kishore Patel, a businessman, stated every time a car passed, clouds of dust erupted making it impossible to take a breath.
Ramjibhai stated that being bored with making lawsuits they determined that they should organize a “besna” for the loss of life street. “We unfold the word within the space and thousands of native residents accrued to mourn the loss of life street,” Ramjibhai stated. However the “besna” this time drew the attention of native politicians who rushed to the spot where the “besna’ used to be being arranged.
Ramjibhai stated they've assured residents of quick motion and feature promised that concrete surfacing of the road can be completed shortly.
