BENGALURU: The meeting speaker KB Koliwad on Monday, after undertaking a hearing for two hours and parlances with the JD(S) revolt MLAs in his anti-chamber, reserved his judgement on the regional celebration plea of disqualifying their MLAs for anti-party activities thereby turning a “blind eye” in opposition to the seven contributors to vote on the crucial RS elections.
With the prime purpose of giving the JD(S) respectable candidate on the Rajya Sabha polls a preventing chance, the regional celebration revived its 2017 petition seeking the disqualification of B Z Zameer Ahmad Khan, N Cheluvarayaswamy, H C Balakrishna, Bheema Nayak, Akhanda Srinivas Murthy, Babu Bandisidde Gowda and Iqbal Ansari.
The petition used to be filed by means of JD(S) with the speaker, after the seven cross-voted against the JD(S) candidate B M Farook and in favour of Congress candidate Ok C Ramamurthy in 2016 RS polls.
With the seven MLAs having overtly declared their loyalities in opposition to the Congress celebration, and scheduled to enroll in the ruling celebration in the presence of the AICC president Rahul Gandhi on March 25 durign the Janaashirvaada rally, the JD(S) appealed to Koliwad on Monday to disqualify them for their anti-party activities.
“The speaker has heard our case, which used to be smartly argued by means of our lawyer, and now we have requested for a judgement on the subject by means of the end of the day or by means of Tuesday morning. However, it's not going that any justice shall be meted out to us,” stated JD(S) MLA B B Ningaiah, who is the petitioner on behalf of the celebration, hinting at Koliwad being a Congressman first and then the speaker of the meeting.
At the opposite end, Ningaiah stated the prime court has admitted their plea of directing the Speaker Ok B Koliwad to disqualify the seven MLAs.
“We expect the arguements to start out from Tuesday, and a judgement be arrived earlier than March 23,” stated the JD(S) Mudigere MLA.
The crucial RS polls is scheduled for March 23, following which the seven revolt MLAs are expected to renounce instantly.
The seven votes of the rebels are crucial for the Congress to secure a seat for their 3rd candidate, G C Chandrashekar on the polls.
It is estimated that each candidate to be elected to the RS requires minimal of 44 votes.
