KANPUR: A minor woman suffered severe wounds after being allegedly stabbed a couple of times by a jilted adolescence and his aide in Fatehpur Khalsa village of Bangarmau in Unnao on Sunday.
Locals mentioned that the assault by the youths led to flutter in the space. As none came forward to assist her, because of this, she gained grievous wounds, they mentioned.
DSP, Unnao, Swatantra Singh advised mediapersons that the 2 youths, belonging to Fatehpur Khalsa village in Bangarmau, attacked the woman with knives when she used to be returning home from temple and left her critically injured following which she used to be rushed to KGMU in Lucknow for fast clinical treatment. He mentioned that the woman is under treatment and her situation has been mentioned as strong.
"When the girl was attacked, she was accompanied by her two female friends. The youths, after committing the crime, managed to flee. We have formed teams to nab them. Police are conducting raids and soon they would be arrested", the police professional mentioned additional. Police officers came forward and donated blood to the woman, he added.
According to the police, the men who had attacked the woman, have been known as Anuj and Ajay Pal. "The girl and Anuj earlier had an affair but for the last many days, she was ignoring the boy following which the latter resorted to such an extreme step", mentioned a police professional. The woman is a minor. Her actual age could be recognized only after the clinical check however in keeping with her family, she is 17 years of age, the police professional additional mentioned.
When TOI contacted, Unnao SP, Pushpanjali mentioned, "A case has been registered against the two youths and a manhunt has been launched to nab them. Soon they would be arrested."
