MANGALURU: Congress president Rahul Gandhi will take part in ‘Janashirvada Yatre’ in Mangaluru on March 20.
On March 20, Gandhi will arrive in a unique flight at Mangaluru International Airport at 11.15am and later he will take off to Thenka Yermal in Udupi district in a chopper. He will inaugurate the Rajiv Gandhi Political Institute, a Seva Dal Training institute), at Thenka Yermal. He will also cope with Seva Dal State office-bearers at the occasion.
His Janashirvada Yatre will start with a corner assembly at Padubidri at the Udupi – Mangaluru national highway at 2.20pm. After the lunch, Gandhi will resume his rally at 3pm. During the roadshow, he will be accorded a reception at Mulki at three.30 and some other at Surathkal at four.20pm. Thereafter, Gandhi will achieve Ambedkar Circle (Jyothi Circle) in Mangaluru city at five.20pm. Party employees will cling a reception meet for their chief at Ambedkar Circle and later he will continue against Nehru Maidan in the city in a procession.
He will cope with a mammoth rally of Congress employees at Nehru Maidan between 6pm and seven.30pm. After the rally and public assembly, Gandhi will seek advice from Kudroli Gokarnanatha Temple, Rozario Cathedral and Ullal Syed Madani Dargah from 7.30pm to 9pm. He will probably be staying in Circuit House at Kadri in the city.
The tour assumes significance as it's Gandhi’s first seek advice from to the city after assuming fee as the president of All India Congress Committee (AICC). Chief minister Siddaramaiah, KPCC president G Parameshwara, AICC basic secretary Okay C Venugopal, senior leaders M Mallikarjuna Kharge, M Veerappa Moily and others will take part in all programmes.
On March 21, Gandhi will meet Block Congress presidents from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts at 8.30am. Later, he will cling assembly with senior leaders of the party from Undivided Dakshina Kannada at nine.30pm. He will take off in a chopper to Sringeri in Chikkamagaluru district at 10.20am. His itinerary in Chikkamagaluru district includes seek advice from to Sringeri Mutt, assembly Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Bharati Thirtha, interaction with students of Rajiv Gandhi Sanskrit University, inauguration of newly constructed Block Congress workplace and a public assembly. Later, he will continue to Hassan district to handle party employees at 6pm. He will take off to Delhi from Mysuru Airport at 10pm.
