RD Women's University students' stir to demand second campus

BHUBANESWAR: Students of Ramadevi Women’s University on Saturday staged dharna in entrance of university main gate difficult appropriate land for second campus of the university and rollback of decision of the state govt to abolish teaching posts of Ramadevi Autonomous College.
The students also blocked Janpath (the street between Vani Vihar to Sishu Bhawan sq.) near the university for greater than an hour as a mark of the protest. Vehicular traffic was once affected for an hour due to the protest.

They stated the state govt had created three universities on May 30, 2015, including Ramadevi Women’s University. “Other two universities already have land for second campus, but we're but to get an acceptable land for our second campus. Because the prevailing campus isn't spacious enough,” stated Soubhagya Soumyashree Samal, president of university’s students union.
