Belagavi: The state govt's determination to shift Sardar's govt girls’s school from Belagavi to Sankeshwar had drawn much flak from students and school. The pupil group has initiated a movement which they are saying will continue until the government changes its determination.
The school was launched in 2014-15 and even supposing it lacks several fundamental facilities — it does no longer even have a building of its personal — several students enrolled. About 517 girls had enrolled in arts and commerce stage classes over the past three years.
Students say that the prevailing location of college is perfect since it is in the middle of district headquarters. The strength of scholars has risen year after year. But due to political drive, the government had deliberate relocate the college in Sankeshwar.
When students learnt of this determination, they started protesting. They lately staged a strike in entrance of the deputy commissioner's place of job. Now, they've began a 'Save govt girls’s school' drive on social media. It has been trending for the previous week.
Girish Badiger, ABVP activist, stated the college has benefitted the poor and rural girl students. “Instead of changing the site, the government must get started every other girls’s school at Sankeshwar as consistent with the call for,” Badiger stated.
Ziaullah S, deputy commissioner, stated, “The important of the college has asked us to not relocate the college to Sankeshwar. We too have discovered that it is going to be recommended to students if the college continues to function in Belagavi most effective. I've written to the government asking that the college continue operations in Belagavi.”
