MANGALURU: Ramakrishna Mission’s 20th week Swachhata abhiyan pressure was arranged at Bejai Kapikad house on Sunday. Dr Dhanesh Kumar Okay U, essential, Nitte College of Physiotherapy and Kuddroli Ganesh, eminent magician flagged off the pressure in the presence of Swami Jitakamananda, head of Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaluru. Dr Dhanesh said, “Swachhata abhiyan must no longer be for sing their own praises but must spring out of authentic concern for native cleanliness.”
Roads leading from Kapikad petrol bunk have been divided among volunteers for cleaning. Both aspects of the street from Kapikad to Bejai Bus stand have been wiped clean by two teams. Two extra group of volunteers took up cleanliness paintings in Anegundi road. Students of Nitte Physiotherapy College wiped clean the street and adjoining drains in Kapikad by eliminating the plastic papers and sweeping the realm. Volunteers wiped clean a space close to petrol bunk which was suffering from plastic waste.
With the purpose of benefitting native public, six course boards depicting names of roads that have been light and no longer serving any purpose have been wiped clean and repainted. Direction boards in Netaji Road in Bejai Kapikad, Kirodian Lane, 1st Cross, second Cross and sixth cross have been repainted. Volunteers of Swachh Mangaluru abhiyan removed a number of flex banners and hoardings in Jyothi (Ambedkar) Circle, Kankanadi, PVS, Kodialbail and Hampankatta areas.
Students of St Aloysius College under the steering of teachers visited houses and stores door to door distributing consciousness handbills and urging them to stay their areas clean. Prashanth Raj of Bhumika Water Suppliers volunteered to clean the roads swept by washing it with water and watered the crops planted at the road dividers. Compound walls of Karangalpady Market wiped clean in the earlier week’s pressure have been beautified with great ornamental thematic drawings.
