MADURAI: A Class XII pupil, who's a Sri Lankan refugee, lost one of his arms when two of his classmates attacked him simply prior to they were to appear for a state board exam in Madurai on Friday morning.
The pupil, M Arjunan, sustained injuries on different parts of his frame too. He used to be admitted to Government Rajaji Hospital right here.
Police said Arjunan, 17, used to be a commerce circulation pupil in Thiruvathavur Government Higher Secondary School and used to be staying in a refugee camp in the house.
The two students attacked him when he used to be about to go into the exam corridor. One of them attacked him with a knife.
On being knowledgeable, a police workforce from the Melur station rushed to the spot and carried out inquiries. The police were on the lookout for the accused students who escaped from the varsity premises. Further inquiries were on.
Police said there used to be a dispute a number of the students over their seats in the school room and this might be the reason for the assault.
