HYDERABAD: A big hearth broke out at a paint godown at Ranigunj space of Secunderabad on Friday. No casualties were reported in the incident up to now.
About 12 hearth tenders were deployed on the spot and over 80 firefighters are running to douse the flames.
"It is a major fire, we are preventing the fire from spreading to the nearby buildings. Nearly 40 people were evacuated from the nearby buildings," said Srinivas Reddy, district hearth officer.
The hearth happened at around 6pm, when locals spotted the smoke and flames and alerted the police. Due to the flammable materials storned in the godown, it's taking time to regulate the fire, said an respectable.
"No fatalities or injuries to anyone have been reported. Nodal officers from GHMC are helping the firefighters in evacuating the public," said Janardhan Reddy, GHMC commissioner.
The injury to the property has been estimated at around Rs 25 lakh up to now. The explanation for the fire is still unknown, said a hearth respectable.
