Karnataka Jayanagar poll: JD(S) pulls out its candidate in support of coalition partner Congress

BENGALURU: The Janata Dal (S) on Tuesday pulled out its candidate from the Jayanagar meeting constituency here for the June 11 polls and extended the birthday celebration's strengthen to its ruling coalition spouse, the Congress.
JD(S) supremo and previous Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda introduced that his birthday celebration candidate Kalegowda was "retiring" from the competition.

JD(S) would strengthen Congress' Sowmya Reddy, he said and requested birthday celebration men and leaders to paintings for her.

Gowda's announcement in a unencumber adopted a meeting with him by senior Congress leader and previous Minister Ramalinga Reddy, who is Sowmya Reddy's father.


The Karnataka meeting election was hung on May 12 but the Jayanagar ballot was countermanded following the death of BJP candidate BN Vijayakumar, who was maintaining the seat.


BJP has named BN Prahlad, brother of Vijaykumar, as its candidate.


Both the Congress and JD(S) had fielded applicants in opposition to every other, regardless of being coalition companions, within the recent election to the Rajarajeshwari Nagar meeting seat within the town.


Congress candidate Munirathna had gained the seat, relegating the JD(S) candidate to 3rd.
