Udhagamandalam: With as many as 82 passengers on board, the mountain teach commenced its first round-trip between Ooty and Keeti on Saturday. The outing, which might be presented on Fridays and Saturdays, was introduced principally for vacationers to experience a brief journey within the Nilgiri Mountain Railway.
It was R Ok Kulshrestha, general manager, Southern railway, who instructed Salem division officers to run a round-trip teach carrier between Ooty and Ketti, after gazing the demand for the mountain teach adventure. Subsequently, U Subbarao, divisional railway manager, Salem division, announced the outing, which might be performed on an ordeal foundation until July.
On Saturday, the mountain teach began from Ooty at 12.30pm and reached Ketti by way of 3pm. Rajya Sabha MP Ok R Arjunan welcomed the passengers at Ketti railway station.
