NEW DELHI: The govt on Tuesday asked the social messaging platform WhatsApp to comply with the regulators and arrange an area entity, news company PTI reported. Aiming to position an finish to the string of faux messages, IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has also advised the Facebook-owned app to find a technical method to hint the starting place of such messages.

"I had a productive meeting with Chris Daniels, the CEO of WhatsApp. I complimented him for the awakening, which WhatsApp has led in the entire country... But there are also sinister developments like mob lynching and revenge porn, you must find solutions to these challenges, which are downright criminal and violation of Indian laws," he said.
According to resources, Daniels shall be in India for 4-Five days, beginning as of late, and is scheduled to meet industry and govt officers throughout his talk over with.
Last month, WhatsApp best executives including COO (leader running officer) Matthew Idema had met IT secretary and other Indian govt officers to stipulate various steps being taken through the corporate to tackle faux news in India.
Over the previous few months, faux messages circulating on WhatsApp have incited incidents of mob fury across parts of India. The govt has sent out two notices to the messaging platform directing it to take urgent measures to curb false data and rumours being unfold at the messaging platform.
