NEW DELHI: Celebrated lady boxer MC Mary Kom, who's all set to compete at the upcoming World Championship to be held in Delhi, on Friday met movie superstar Rajinikanth at his Poes Garden place of abode in Chennai.
The London Olympics bronze medallist on Friday took to Twitter and shared footage with Rajinikanth.
“It was nice and so wonder assembly with @rajinikanth the legend superstar #Hollywood #Kollywood,” Mary tweeted.
The 35-year-old from Manipur will compete in her puppy 48kg category at the World Championships.
Magnificent Mary, as she is fondly called, has five World Championships titles under her belt but even so a large number of other crowns, together with Asian Games gold and bronze in London Olympics.
Mary, who has been named as the brand ambassador for the upcoming World Championships, will lead a powerful 10-member Indian contingent at the tournament.
Besides Mary, other participants of the squad are Pinky Jangra (51kg), Manisha Maun (54kg), Sonia (57kg), L Sarita Devi (60kg), Simranjit Kaur (64kg), Lovlina Borgohain (69kg), Sweety Boora (75kg), Bhagyabati Kachari (81kg) and Seema Poonia (+81kg).
