JALANDHAR: Demanding quick resignation of Punjab minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu for allegedly seeking to influence the probe into a multi-crore land scam in Ludhiana, Punjabi Ekta Party president Sukhpal Singh Khaira on Tuesday announced to begin a protest in front of the minister's house in Ludhiana from Thursday.
Khaira's observation got here after an audio clip went viral in which a person, purportedly Ashu, is heard threatening Ludhiana MC DSP Balwinder Singh and superintendent engineer R Ok Garg in separate telephone calls. Stating that the phone name recordings had already gone viral, Khaira said it was transparent that Ashu had also challenged the authority of Punjab and Haryana prime courtroom. He instructed the chief justice of Punjab and Hatyana prime courtroom to take cognisance of Ashu's challenge to judiciary.
He said the dialog "reflected corrupt practices" of individuals of CM Amarinder Singh's ministerial cupboard.
