KANPUR: Stage is about for the world famous conventional Ganga Mela of Kanpur to begin at Sarsaiyya Ghat on Tuesday.
As Lok Sabha elections are not far away, it is expected that a number of political leaders, together with former Union minister Shiprakash Jaiswal, UP cabinet ministers Satish Mahana and Satya Deo Pachauri, legislators of different events and local leaders would remain provide on the ghat.
The week-long Ganga Mela is observed on 'Anuradha Nakshtra', three to seven days after complete moon. The fest is well known as on this day revolutionaries were launched through the British after being made captive during 1857 mutiny.
All political events along side the administration and plenty of organisations have set up camps between Chetna crossing and Sarsaiyya Ghat.
'Rangon ka thela' can be taken out via more than a few localities. Priest of Varanasi would perform 'Maha Aarti' of Ganga on the ghat at 6pm on Tuesday.
