VASCO: Kerala native Ok Bindu, 39, was once allegedly strangled via her husband on Sunday evening. Odisha native Ashok Panchanam Kumar confessed to police that he killed his wife in a fit of rage after she said offensive issues to him about his daughter and refused to have intercourse with him.
He surrendered himself to police after the incident. Verna PI Sandesh Chodankar said on Monday that in the dark the accused walked from his space Zorinth, Zuarinagar, to the Birla outpost and informed the hawaldar about his crime, who recorded the whole thing and took him to Verna police station.
Couple was once married for 7 years, has 2 children
Chodankar said that the couple slept at nine.30pm, along with their children. Kumar then awoke at 10.30pm and demanded intercourse from his wife. She refused and an issue broke out with her telling him "to have sex with some other women or wait till their daughter grows up". This incensed Kumar who then strangled her.
The couple has been married for seven years and has a five-year-old daughter and a three-year-old son. Kumar has been in Goa for last 10 years and works as a cleaner on a tanker.
It was once simplest when the police staff reached his space that the neighbourhood and the sufferer's mother Ok V Mary who is living in the subsequent space learnt of the incident. "On Sunday night we had dinner together. It was when the police awoke us that we realised my daughter had been killed," said Mary.
The frame has been preserved at Goa Medical College and Hospital for a postmortem. Kumar was once sent for clinical examination. Verna police registered a case underneath Section 302 of IPC and PI Sandesh Chodankar is investigating the case.
