Varanasi: The Chandauli police arrested 10 persons with 3 luxury automobiles and SUVs from other puts and recovered liquor worth over Rs 28 lakh being smuggled to Bihar all over a unique checking pressure carried out on Bihar border on Saturday.
SP Chandauli Santosh Kumar Singh mentioned that 3 automobiles and SUVs with rankings of bottles containing over 2000 litre of Indian-made international liquor of different manufacturers had been seized.
The kingpin and four other participants of this liquor smuggling gang had been from Bihar while others had been from UP, Haryana and other states.
During police interrogation they divulged that because of on-going poll process the call for for liquor had higher in Bihar, which had develop into dry state in 2016, he mentioned.
The SP added that the crowd was finding consumers to buy liquor in bulk by paying huge quantity because of which they'd higher the frequency of sending consignments to Bihar after buying it from Haryana and other states.
