Ambala: Two more booked for possesing illegal weapon

AMBALA: In separate instances, a criminal offense investigation agency (CIA) group of the district police have arrested two persons after seizing unlawful guns from their possession. Interestingly, within the remaining 3 days, the district police have registered 5 instances underneath the Arms Act.

In the first case, officers of CIA-I group mentioned that they had arrested Gaurav of Boh village in Ambala Cantonment, following a tip-off.


"The accused was once roaming freely with an unlawful weapon. We had laid a checkpost close to Bhur Mandi where we noticed the accused strolling with the weapon.

"He attempted to present us a slip, however, we managed to nab him and take hold of an unlawful country-made .315 bore pistol from his possession."

In the second one case, another member of the CIA group mentioned, "A person grew to become around after seeing a checkpost installed at Ekta Vihar Chowk. Upon suspicion, we approached him and upon checking confiscated another unlawful country-made .315 bore pistol and a bulled from his possession. The accused has been recognized as Nanu (alias Chetan), a resident Ram Kishan Colony in Ambala Cantonment."

Both Gaurav and Nanu were booked underneath Sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act.


On Tuesday, they had been introduced before a court docket, which sent Gaurav to a two-day police remand and Nanu was once remanded in custody for 3 days.


Earlier instances


On April 6, Mohit of Rambass village in Charkhi Dadri district was once arrested with an unlawful .32 bore pistol and four bullets.


On April 7, Gurbaj Singh of Hira Nagar in Ambala City and Bhola of Defence Enclave in Boh village had been arrested with an unlawful country-made pistol and an empty magazine, and a country-made pistol and two bullets, respectively.
