CHANDIGARH: Chandigarh district courtroom directed Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Carmel Convent School and Bhavan Vidyalaya to modify the name of a scholar in their records and issue recent certificate reflecting the modified name inside a duration of 2 months.
A civil swimsuit used to be filed tough that the plaintiff’s name be modified from ‘Idika Mittal’ to ‘Idheeka’ in the records of CBSE, Carmel Convent School and Bhavan Vidyalaya as well as in the certificate of categories X and XII.
It used to be stated that the plaintiff finished her matriculation from Carmel Convent School in 2015 and afterwards finished her 10+2 from Bhavan Vidyalaya in 2017. Due to positive reasons, the plaintiff modified her name from ‘Idika Mittal’ to ‘Idheeka’. It used to be discussed that in Aadhar card and passport, her name had already been modified. The plaintiff again and again visited the administrative center of CBSE, Carmel Convent School and Bhavan Vidyalaya and asked them to make the vital adjustments in their report, but CBSE refused. It used to be further submitted that if the name isn't modified in CBSE’s records, the similar can't be achieved in any certificate of schools and college. Finally she moved to courtroom.
After the arguments, the courtroom held that the plaintiff can't be made to suffer because of converting her name. The courtroom added that if the plaintiff ’s name remains unchanged in the school records, then she would face difficulties while applying for upper research.
The courtroom order reads, “it is held that ‘Idheeka’ and ‘Idika Mittal’ are one and the similar particular person...Resultantly, plaintiff is entitled to proper her name as ‘Idheeka’ in the instructional report of CBSE, Carmel Convent School and Bhavan Vidyalaya as well as in the certificate of Class X and XII.”
It used to be also directed that CBSE, Carmel Convent School and Bhavan Vidyalaya will have to issue recent certificate appearing the true name of the plaintiff as ‘Idheeka’ inside a duration of 2 months positively.
